Memorial Day 2002
We are especially pleased with A Brief History of Punctuation. This large format book (8.5" x 14.5") is printed in an edition of 136 copies from Joanna types on dampened Somerset, an English mouldmade paper. The book includes abstract calligraphic images by the noted calligrapher Cheryl Jacobsen, a long-time collaborator with the press. The binding was done in-house, featuring suminagashi marbled papers by Bradley Naragon, Carol Kratz and C. Mikal Oness, in a variety of patterns, along with applications of handmade Japanese vegetable rush paper and Cave Paper case tabs pulled outside of the boards. The standard price for each copy is $320. As with each edition, 10 copies are reserved unbound by the press and 5 bound copies will be reserved for the press archive. Each copy is signed by the poet and the artist.
