Thanksgiving 2001
The Thanksgiving 2001 issue is a new collection of poems by Herbert Scott, entitled In the Palm of Space. The seven eight-page signatures of this book (4.25" x 6.75") are printed in an edition of 136 copies from handset Lutetia italic types with roman capitals on a variety of dampened papers. It is bound in-house in a variety of styles with some put between boards by Larry Yerkes of Iowa City. Most bindings feature marbled papers by Rebecca Blom and C. Mikal Oness, done in-house. Descriptions of the editions within the edition follow:
50 copies printed on Somerset 175gm book paper, an English mouldmade paper. The naked spine is sewn onto UICB handmade paper case tabs pulled to the outside of thick boards covered in marbled Zerkall Frankfurt paper.
27 copies are printed on Nideggen, a laid paper from the Zerkall mill, sewn in-house and cased-in by Larry Yerkes of Iowa City in cloth with marbled paper on the front.
15 copies are printed on handmade UICB B9 paper and sewn with long stitch into marbled UICB handmade paper case with a fold-over front flap.
15 copies are printed on Judson Reserve, a mysterious machine-made paper donated to the Press by John Judson of Juniper Press. They are sewn into a coptic binding with a naked spine and feature UICB handmade paper case covers (not marbled).
9 copies on a white handmade paper from UICB, 8 copies on Legion Letterpress paper, and 2 copies (nfs) on Johannot, a French mouldmade paper, all sewn in-house and cased-in by Larry Yerkes of Iowa City in cloth with marbled paper on the front.
As with each edition, 10 copies are reserved unbound by the press.
